Who Am I
When I graduated high school I had my career mapped out and I would've argued with anyone who told me that 20 years later I would not be working as a firefighter/paramedic. I am a firm believer that all things happen for a reason and every season in life has prepared me for the next season in my life and career.
I started my career as a paramedic in 2006 with the city of Opelika Fire Department. One of the greatest experiences of my life was the opportunity to serve my city. In 2009 I took a major step and went to nursing school. This season of life was met with a lot of ups and downs. I graduated as an RN in 2010 and began working in the ICU at East Alabama Medical Center. The experience I gained during this time was priceless. In 2012 I took a full time teaching position at Southern Union State Community College in the EMS Department. This is where I believe I am fulfilling my calling. I am passionate about education. I am now the Lead Paramedic Instructor and love every minute of teaching!
